Wedding

Wedding planing really has a way of making women just a bit crazy. It's funny every women I know is just dieing for something to do with my wedding, it truly is nice to know they want to be a part of it but it does make me thing do they want to do things because they are just friends helping a friend or is it because we in our society have conditioned women to believe that this one is the most important thing that could ever happen. It is a bit wired for me planing my wedding and feeling just so about it, I don't mean about marrying my fiancé, but about the details about this party and that's really what the wedding is, yes we are having a spiritual ceremony and that I'm over the moon about planing. But everything else to me just doesn't seam to matter flowers and fevers table settings. I don't know if I feel this way became even thou I had the our bride dollars as a kid I was never that little girl that playied wedding or the teen that thought about it and planned it. When I have thought about my wedding over the years I have always thought more about what kind of spiritual ceremony I would have.

I'm doing a lot of things for my wedding as DIY. I'm making my dress yes I did say that, however I'm not wearing a big white dress. Having gone to a lot of school dances and doing reenacting, I have truly bean able to wear all the big lovely dresses. Trying to top some of the dresses I havent worn over the years is kind of hard. The one formal that I haven't worn is a Lehenga, so that's what I'm making.  Now I know people what a lot are thinking but you have to try on. The big white dress. Don't worry I have, you see I use to work at a wedding dress shop, and my co workers were always having me try on the new dress. I even have photos of me in them so don't worry I have seen my self in it so I know it's not for me.  On top on the dress I'm also making my cake, yes I know crazy! But you see my fiancé is diabetic, so I'm working on low sugar cake recipes, also I want a cake with out icing for that same reason well that and I think it's lovely with out icing.

However the real crazy thing is that my weddin is this Septmber 5, 2015. That's right it's a short time and the great fun of it is that my fiancé has moved for his new job so I'm here planing by my self in many ways. But also planing a move becuase we will be moving my stuff to Louisiana the day after the wedding! It's not the ideal plan but being that he just started he can only get a very short time off from work, and we just decided a few weeks ago to do the whole wedding thing and not just live together. So I know it's all going to be just fine, as long as we can keep it about the two of us and about who we are that's all that matters really.

First try at my wedding cake

With my up coming wedding I'm busy that for sure, so I thought way not add one more thing now I know that sounds crazy to just about every one. But in truth it's not that crazy, we are thinking of a cake with no icing to start with. Then I have decided to use variations of the wedding cake bride and grooms cakes that are in my grandmother's old cookbook. She got this cookbook when my grandfather and her were first married in 1954, they bought household goods at an estate sale after the death of a woman in town, .

This cookbook that she continue to use was one of the things that was part of the whole lot of they got, a long with some other things that I still have.

So to night I did my first try at the cake, with out changing any part of the recipe. The next time I am now going to double the recipe and replace the sugar with Stevia. You see part of the reason why my fiancé and I decided to have a no icing cake is because he's diabetic, so his is father , a cousin of mine and then my mother is on a special diet due to her cancer. So it just seams like a good idea to be more thoughtful of my family, that's why I'm not only working on making my wedding cake low sugar but also working at making recipes that I love to cook and bake more diabetic friendly too.

Summer is here

got to love this nice hot June day we had in Phoenix, my A/C took it s the right time to stop working! This is just no good at all, it's going to be a few days I think before it's fixed and what do you know it's the week they are calling for it to be about 108 degrees. I'm looking forward to going to work this weekend that's for sure. But I don't see myself getting much work done on my wedding dress with it being this hot, it's just to much fabric to deal with when its this hot.
